Christchurch Football Centre App

The Sports Agency are excited to announce the launch of our latest mobile app for the Christchurch Football Centre. The Christchurch Football Centre is a world-class football facility that is hosting the 2017 Christchurch International Cup that was recently played. The tournament attracts over 1000 from all over Australia and New Zealand so they definitely needed an app that was functional and effective and we delivered.

There are so many great features of this app, including exclusive deals that are available directly from the app’s homepage and the current offer is a free freestyle football workshop for interested players. Important messages are also regularly posted to the app’s main screen so that players, coaches and parents alike are in the loop on upcoming events and game notices.

There is an entire section of the app that is dedicated to the Christchurch International Cup to keep all players up-to-date with tournament proceedings. Social media links, an extensive list of event sponsors and all the draw information can be found in one handy spot so help the Cup run as smoothly as possible.

Subway is the club’s sponsor and offers all team members great deals on packed lunches. This information can be found on the app and for all players who order before 5pm the day prior, their lunches will be delivered to the Information Centre between 11am and 2pm come game day.

Some more handy features of the app include:
o Site maps and game locations for ease of access
o A full list of food and beverage outlets available during the tournament
o A survey for players to provide feedback about their experience at the Christchurch Football Centre
o Lots more so stay warm and well done to all the teams that competed in this year’s Cup!

Sports Roundup June 2017

Welcome back to our monthly sports roundup, we had a bit of a hiatus but we’re back and better than ever. It has been a very exciting month for sports so let’s get straight into it.

When it comes to the sporting highlights of June, we can’t go past the sailing. Emirates Team New Zealand seems to be the team name on everybody’s mind lately and not without good reason. The Kiwi team won the Louis Vuitton Challenger series in Bermuda convincingly against Artemis in the final. They then went on to compete at the America’s Cup regatta where they all but smashed Oracle with a 8-1 victory. This month’s sailing antics have managed to convert sailing sceptics into the biggest supporters and Peter Burling has all but cemented his status as a Kiwi sporting icon.

In other news, the much anticipated Lions’ tour, which only tours our shores once every twelve years, has commenced with varying results thus far. They have accumulated four wins and three losses thus far but haven’t managed to beat the All Blacks just yet. There are some rumours circling that say this will be the last Lion’s tour so get yourself down to the fan zone to soak up the atmosphere while it lasts.

More sports:

  • The Black ferns won the World Sevens Championships by beating Australia in the final by sixteen points. The women’s rugby team have proved how strong they are as a team time after time and winning against Aussie is always a bonus.
  • It has been a good month for women’s sport because the White Ferns won by nine wickets against Sri Lanka in their opening test match of the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Captain Suzie Bates scored a century to lead the team to victory and Holly Huddleston claimed five of the Sri Lankan wickets. The girls should be very proud of their performance because Sri Lanka were up 141-1 only to be all out for 188.
  • Women’s Blacksticks are competing at the 2017 Women Hockey World League competition where they beat Australia 2-0 and narrowly missed out on the finals in an epic game against the Netherlands which ended in 5-4. They did however, claim the bronze medal this morning against South Korea with the help of a very strong defence.
  • The All Whites just competed in the Confederations cup where they had some mixed performances. They lost their opening match to host Russia 2-0 but followed it up with a superb performance against Mexico – world number 17 – where they lead 1-0 at half time but were chased down to lose 2-1. In their final game, against European champions Portugal, they unfortunately lost 4-0.
  • Earlier in the month, Michael Venus won the doubles’ final at the French Open with his American partner, Ryan Harrison, and became the first Kiwi to take home a grand slam title since 1973.
  • There are a record number of New Zealanders competing in the tour de France which started on July 1st. It is the first time we have ever had four competitors and another first is that there will be more Kiwi participants than USA cyclists.

Thanks for tuning into the July sports roundup and we look forward to seeing what exciting results will come from August!
